શ્લોક ૧૪

आत्मधातस्तु तीर्थेऽपि न कर्तव्यश्च न क्रुधा ।

अयोग्याचरणात् क्वापि न विषोद्बन्धनादिना॥14॥

અને આત્મઘાત તો તીર્થને વિષે પણ ન કરવો ને ક્રોધે કરીને ન કરવો; અને ક્યારેક કોઈ અયોગ્ય આચરણ થઈ જાય, તે થકી મૂંઝાઈને પણ આત્મઘાત ન કરવો. અને ઝેર ખાઈને તથા ગળે ટૂંપો ખાઈને તથા કૂવે પડીને તથા પર્વત ઉપરથી પડીને ઇત્યાદિક કોઈ રીતે આત્મઘાત ન કરવો. ॥14॥

And one should never commit suicide even at the places of pil­grimage or out of anger. And one should not commit suicide in a confused state of mind as a result of improper conduct. Moreover, one should never commit suicide by consuming poison, by hanging through a rope, by jumping into a well, by falling from a moun­tain or by any such methods. || 14 ||
